We think it’s the Apple iPad 2, but right now is not the time to buy one.
A new iPad is coming as early as March, according to published reports. It could be as few as six weeks away. If the industry speculations are to be believed the new iPad 3 will be significantly better than its predecessor. The iPad 3 is rumored to boast a high resolution screen, bigger processor and multiple tablets sizes to suit every consumer.
The Japanese website, Macotakara, reports that Apple will introduce the iPad 3 in February and will launch the device in early March. iPad 2 was introduced March 2, 2010 and hit stores about a week later.
Macotakara and Bloomberg have also reported that iPad 3 would start production ahead of an early March debut.
Pricing on iPad 3 is expected to be consistent with current iPad 2 pricing and the iPad 2 will drop in price, to $399 or cheaper, industry analysts predict, to compete with other tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire.
If you can bide a little time before purchasing a tablet, we suggest you hold off for now. While no one knows yet exactly what is on the way, we expect it will be worth the wait.
