NBC is bringing its suite of programming normally available online to the iPad. So is the Ted Turner family of networks.
Using the iPad app, viewers can get full episodes of NBC programming, just as you can online with a PC. The app also adds new features like ability to watch live clips, play games and scroll photos — all within the app. NBC says this will “make the broadcasts of ‘The Office,’ ‘The Sing-Off,’ ‘The Biggest Loser’ and ‘Chuck’ unique and interactive experiences.”
“We are thrilled to offer our fans full episodes via our NBC.com app. Now the app truly reflects the deep fan experience that we have created online at NBC.com,” said Vivi Zigler, president of NBCUniversal Digital Entertainment. “And our fans are going to love the latest update to the NBC Live app which now offers them more content, better access and a unique social television experience.”
The app launched last June and will now deliver show content and features like video clips, highlights, photo galleries and games and news. There’s even a social aspect to the app with exclusive content.
The TNT and TBS apps deliver episode guides, clips, behind the scenes content and full episodes of Turner favorites like “The Closer,” “Falling Skies” and “Conan” and “Meet The Browns.”
Wonder how close we are to seeing live football (NBC) and basketball (TNT) streaming for an app to the iPad.
