The Wall Street Journal, adding to a flurry of Apple news lately, is reporting that Sprint will release an iPhone 5 version in October.
The WSJ sources say Sprint will also carry the cheaper iPhone 4 version that’s widely expected to launch at the same time.
Many sources claim the new iPhone 5 will be thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4 with a bigger screen and an 8 megapixel camera (compared to the 5 MP in the iPhone 4).
Still no word on if T-Mobile will get the iPhone 5. There had been some earlier reports of Apple testing a T-Mobile variant but news of T-Mobile getting iPhone seemed to have died down. Wonder if that buyout thing with AT&T has anything to do with that?
A Sprint iPhone could bring some interesting competition as Sprint has unlimited data still compared to metered plans from AT&T and Verizon. Sprint’s plans are still generally cheaper as well.
