T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman may’ve put a permanent end to any iPhone speculation on T-Mobile USA. He said he wasn’t expecting one.
If Apple doesn’t drop a 4G/LTE option on the iPhone 5/4S next week, assuming it had put a model on T-Mobile, the T-Mobile iPhone might’ve been the fastest iPhone (as we surmised last month)
And now maybe T-Mobile’s big smartphone sale last weekend makes sense, too. The thinking being, “let’s lock up as many customers as we can on two-year contracts before the new iPhone comes out on every major U.S. carrier but ours.”
Brodman was on stage in San Francisco at the big GigaOM Mobilize conference and got asked about iPhone on T-Mobile. His response was “the ball is in Apple’s court.”
He added that he didn’t expect iPhone 5 on T-Mobile next month, but said his company has made it clear that it wants to have the iPhone.
