Verizon will release the Motorola Droid 4 Friday for $199.99 with a two-year agreement. On the same day, Verizon will introduce a special where all Motorola RAZR customers can buy one and get one free, including the new DROID RAZR MAXX version. And this includes all colors.
Sources also say the double data special Verizon ran early this year will also return, which allows new customers to double the smartphone data their plan calls for. So if you pay for 2 gigabytes of data, you’ll get 4 for the duration of your agreement.
This is in addition to trade-in programs and $100 off any 4G LTE tablet with the purchase of any new phone and signing of a new two-year agreement.
The iPad is not a 4G device and is not part of this promotion.
The new Motorola Droid 4 features a QWERTY keyboard and a thin case. The keyboard is edge lit, like on a PC and it runs on Verizon’s super fast 4G cellular network. The phone will provide a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices. Most “super phones” do the WiFi thing, but only for five.
